Licensed in the Rhode Island and Massachusetts State and Federal Courts, Carrara Law handles all aspects of insurance defense and Family Court matters, as well as contract and other civil litigation through trial. Their trial work in the Rhode Island and Massachusetts State and Federal Courts also includes alternative dispute resolution through arbitration and mediation including, but, not limited to, the following areas of litigation: representing insureds and insurance carriers in commercial and personal claims; insurance defense of first and third party insurance claims; preparing coverage opinions; handling Declaratory Judgment Actions; handling Diminution Of Value claims, coverage claims and denials, valuation claims, and other insurance issues; handling of SIU and fraud claims; defend breach of contract and breach of warranty claims.

​Their family court practice includes, but is not limited to, prenuptial agreements, divorce, child custody issues, drafting Marital Settlement Agreements, uncontested and contested divorces, interactions with Guardian Ad Litems, working with expert witnesses in valuing businesses, real estate and financial matters.

GREGORY A. CARRARA

Greg is a graduate of LaSalle Academy’s class of 1982. Immediately following graduation, he completed infantry basic training at Fort Benning, GA. He served in the US Army Reserve in a cold weather infantry unit while attending Providence College, where he entered and completed the ROTC program. He worked full time in addition to attending Providence College, graduating in 1986. After completing his undergraduate degree, he was branched Signal Corps and completed officer basic at Fort Gordon, GA, where he achieved the rank of 2nd Lt. The next three years were spent teaching and counseling at risk youth at Ocean Tides in Narragansett, RI while contemporaneously serving in the US Army Reserve in an Army Training Evaluation Unit, until he made the decision to attend law school. As a new graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lansing, MI, Greg worked as a law clerk in the Rhode Island Superior Court, working with the Justices on several high profile civil and criminal cases.

 

Greg then transitioned from the judiciary branch into private sector where, he worked as a litigation associate at Morrison Mahoney and Miller before co-founding Carrara Dayian, PC. He loves his work as a trial lawyer, and lives with his wife and four children in Barrington, RI, where he also has had the honor of coaching the Barrington High School Mock Trial team which has made the playoffs every year since he has been coach. In addition to his legal work, he enjoys outdoor training and workouts, and has successfully tackled more than fifteen Tough Mudders. He is a music, German car, watch, and art enthusiast but his greatest joy comes from the time he spends with his family.

MARIA PEREIRA

Maria is the Senior Legal Administrative Assistant and Office Manager for Carrara Law. Primarily, Maria coordinates client communications and assists in maintaining close relationships with clients, as effective and timely communication is paramount at Carrara Law. 

Maria also assists in all aspects of handling cases in litigation and assists in preparing pleadings, filing motions, trial preparation, and timely reporting of all significant matters and developments on each case to clients. 


Maria graduated from East Providence High School and subsequently attended Katherine Gibbs School, where she graduated with honors.  Maria’s early and diverse work included tenures at Phoenix Mutual Insurance, Fram, Inc., DaRocha Auto Repair, and Smith Family Dental.  After gaining valuable experience through those positions, she began her legal career at Kiernan, Plunkett, and Redihan, where she worked for nine years, and later, van Tienhoven & Cotter where she worked for thirteen years before joining Greg’s team in 2015. Maria is an integral member of the Carrara Law legal team.

Maria is blessed with and enjoys the company of her family, including her husband, two children, and two grandchildren, as well as her good friends, and beloved dog, Luke.  She also enjoys walking, cross stitching, crafting, and baking.
